Natural stone poolside stones - the ideal addition to your pool
Natural stone poolside stones - the ideal addition to your pool
Midsummer lures us outdoors with its warm, but also sometimes tropical temperatures, before autumn slowly arrives in just a few weeks and forces us back indoors. And what could be better than being able to use your own pool or even whirlpool in the garden during this remaining time? Even a smaller pool with an integrated whirlpool can transform any garden into a wellness oasis. And to ensure that the garden and terrace complement each other ideally, natural stone is of course a must in the pool area. Above all, pool edge stones are the perfect complement or extension to the existing outdoor facilities. The large selection of natural stone opens up unique design options in the area of pool coping stones. From limestone, precious travertine and crystal marble to granite, many things are possible. The individual installation of the selected stones, e.g. as a Roman entry, also makes the heart of every natural stone lover beat faster.
How is a pool edge made of natural stone created?
Experience first-hand in this video how a pool edge made of natural stone is created! In this case, we present to you the production route of a Roman entrance, as it is often used for the entrance area of a pool. First, the individual segments are cut, partly by machine, partly by hand. Then the edges of the natural stone are ground and shaped. Great care, precision and craftsmanship are required here. The surface of the natural stone is then roughened in a special sandblasting process to ensure sufficient slip resistance at the pool edge later on. Finally, the individual segments are put together to create the typical outer corner with inner rounding for the pool edge.
Safety in the pool area with natural stone
Apart from the design aspect, the pool edging stones should primarily fulfil another important task, namely to provide slip and slip resistance. The outer pool area in particular is naturally flooded when the pool is used and is therefore wet. To guarantee sufficient safety for you and your bathers, only poolside stones with a slightly roughened surface should be used here. And by the way: the slightly rough surface of natural stone is wonderfully pleasant to walk on barefoot and gently massages your feet. And there is yet another advantage to designing your pool area with natural stone. Pool edge stones made of limestone or crystal marble prevent your pool or whirlpool from becoming dirty to a certain extent.
Limestone and crystal marble pool edge stones
As mentioned above, we mainly use Levante Crema limestone, Mandorla precious travertine or crystal marble for pool coping stones. Limestone is probably one of the most popular types of stone for the pool area, as it convinces with its weather resistance, durability and, last but not least, its bright and invigorating colouring. It is probably this unique colouring that evokes memories of sandy beaches and South Sea flair. Crystal marble is characterised by its soft grey tones and its modern look. The typical, expressive patterns of crystal marble speak their own language and radiate exclusivity and the joy of something special. Due to its colouring, crystal marble absorbs sunlight, the natural stone does not heat up and is therefore always pleasant to walk on.
Natural stone - make the right choice!
Of course, you can also use other types of natural stone such as travertine, quartz sandstone or sandstone for your pool or whirlpool. However, you should always pay attention to the following basic requirements: The natural stone must be weatherproof, frost-proof and safe to walk on even when wet. In addition, the chosen pool edge stone should also blend in visually with the existing design of the garden and terrace. After all, natural stone is a natural product that looks very natural, stylish and timeless and gives an object like the pool a perfect setting. It is therefore important that the pool edge and terrace design do not contradict each other visually, but form a harmonious overall picture for the eye.

Quartzite for the pool and Levante Crema hard limestone for the terrace. The blue-greenish-violet quartzite in mirrored finish from Brazil convinced with its unique structure. Our technicians and stonemason craftsmen made the large slabs with profiles to measure using CNC-controlled machines and manual work for the finishing touches. For the terrace floor, the choice fell on the hard limestone Levante Crema sandblasted.

My personal expert tips:
- Include a whirlpool in your new pool area. This will create pure wellness in your home for a long time to come.
- The concreted area next to the pool edge should be formed slightly deeper than the concrete from the pool edge. The pool edge is laid in a thin adhesive, the bottom slabs in a drainage mortar.
- The slope of the sub-concrete of the area next to the pool should be formed away from the pool edge already in the subsoil.
