Porcelain stoneware - Techno stone
The perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Transform your project into something very special with porcelain stoneware.
What is porcelain stoneware?
Porcelain stoneware is a type of ceramic tile known for its high density and low porosity. Porcelain stoneware tiles offer excellent durability as they are highly resistant to scratches, stains, moisture, heat and other elements that would damage other floor coverings over time. This makes them an ideal choice for large homes or commercial spaces with high foot traffic. Porcelain stoneware slabs are also an affordable alternative or complement to natural stone and parquet, adding a luxurious look to any property with particularly generous sizes such as 120x120cm up to 320x160cm. Porcelain stoneware patio slabs and tiles are available in a variety of colors and styles, allowing you to customize the look of your indoor and outdoor living areas.

Properties and advantages of porcelain stoneware
Porcelain stoneware is more flexible to use than any other building material. Nevertheless, it has all the qualities that discerning clients associate with a fine stone floor. Our Technostein is a technically manufactured stone made from natural quartz, feldspar and a proportion of kaolin. The natural "stone components" are ground finer than flour, pressed and sintered at over 1200°C. It is therefore "technically" produced. It is therefore produced "technically". This is what makes porcelain stoneware so variable. Our engineered stone is available in a wide range of colors, patterns and textures.
The properties of porcelain stoneware are also its advantages.
Technical advantages of porcelain stoneware
- Porcelain stoneware is abrasion and scratch resistant: our Techno stone has a Mohs hardness rating of 8. The Mohs scale ranges from 1 to 10 and provides a relatively good assessment of the degree of hardness for stones. The fixed levels of the scale are based on which stone can be scratched by the next hardest stone. For comparison: a diamond has level 10, a Topaz is on the same level as our Techno stone. This makes our porcelain stoneware incredibly robust.
- Acid-resistant and fireproof.
- As a result, our techno stone remains lightfast and colorfast, which means you will always enjoy it.
In addition to all this, porcelain stoneware also looks antibacterialwhich brings us to the next category within the advantages of Schubert Stone's Technostein:
Cleaning porcelain stoneware - a major advantage
- Porcelain stoneware tiles are inherently very hygienic. This is due to the antibacterial effect mentioned above.
- In general, our techno stone is insensitive to stains due to its high density and acid resistance.
- If stains do occur, they are easy to remove for this very reason.
- Even if the stains are stubborn, the advantage is that you can tackle them with even the toughest cleaners! This is thanks to the robustness of our Technostein.
What are the advantages of porcelain stoneware over natural stone?
- Its robustness makes our technostone extremely resilient and therefore very durable. Unlike natural stone, techno stone does not need to be impregnated.
- There are virtually no limits to your creativity or your ideas. Patterns, colors and sizes can be adapted to your wishes. Whether you want your tiles to have a slate look (only much more robust and easier to maintain) or your patio floor to have a wood look, but without a great deal of maintenance: porcelain stoneware provides you with a combination of the best properties!
- Our Technostein tiles are available in almost all dimensions. This means we can also supply you with stone slabs up to a size of 300 x 150 cm. An ideal size for laying seamless wall tiles for the shower!
Floor tiles in generous formats
The industry trend is clear: large-format tiles are more popular than ever! With large floor and wall formats, rooms can be designed to be more open and at the same time more discreet. With tile sizes of up to 320x160x0.56, the joint pattern is barely recognizable. Floors and walls now look as if they have been cast from a single mold. Elegant surfaces, looks and colors raise your living ambience to a new level with these new tile sizes.
