Garden design with natural stone slabs
Natural stone is a very individual material that has its own character both in terms of its coloring and its surface finish. This special character often only becomes apparent when large areas are laid. However, even smaller elements created from natural stone, such as individual path or stone slabs in the garden, can develop their very own fascination. Whether as a decorative element by the pool or pond, as a practical path through the garden to protect the lawn or as a visual break for larger garden areas - natural stone slabs offer a wide range of design options for lawns, patios and gardens.
Good planning right from the start
In principle, all natural stones that can be used outdoors are suitable for designing your garden. However, we mainly use limestone, travertine or crystal marble, as these materials are extremely weather-resistant, robust and slip-resistant. When choosing natural stone, the most important thing is good planning. How should the garden and patio be designed overall? Should the stone slabs be decorative or practical? Once these fundamental questions have been answered, it is important to take stock of the natural stone materials and elements already in use. After all, the design of the garden with stone slabs should create a harmonious picture for the observer and be sensibly laid out.
Stone slabs made of travertine, limestone or crystal marble
As already mentioned, we use various natural stones for stone slabs. Levante Crema sandblasted is a very light-colored limestone that is reminiscent of white beaches. Due to its color, the natural stone hardly absorbs any heat from the sun. Even on hot and sunny days, Levante Crema remains pleasantly cool. The sandblasted surface of the natural stone offers sufficient slip resistance in the pool area as well as in wet conditions and provides a wonderful feeling when walking barefoot.
Crystal marble also scores highly with its light-colored and slightly rough surface, which is ideal for safe and comfortable barefoot walking. This natural stone has a rather understated appearance and is therefore the perfect partner for the individual design of gardens and patios with stone slabs.
The Nocciole travertine, on the other hand, has a distinctly Mediterranean feel. The slightly rough surface and the beige to dark brown shades of this natural stone create a rustic and very original flair. The unique character of travertine is particularly striking in combination with green lawn edges and pools or ponds.
If you like it extravagant, but also classic, the Anthracite Nuvolato limestone is a good choice. White veining gives this natural stone an additional appeal. Although the dark gray limestone has a somewhat cool appearance, it also works its magic on smaller stone slabs. In combination with grass or water, it also creates a very individual but harmonious overall impression.
