Travertine stone slabs for indoors and outdoors
Travertine has pleasant properties: The natural stone shows noble restraint through its appearance and frees the eye for the essentials. It presents itself in a pleasantly natural, grey to brownish colour. The unobtrusive play of colour with the cosy, natural-looking antique edges provides a pleasant backdrop for your garden furniture and fits in perfectly everywhere. A special stone with understatement.
Oversize formats up to 61 x 91.5 cm / thickness 3 cm.
The special properties of travertine
No wonder, then, that travertine tiles and stone slabs with their soft tones are particularly successful in a classical ambience. The grey colour, which is available in different variants, has the pleasant properties of light sand. It prevents the floor from heating up on outdoor stone steps and terraces and invites you to walk barefoot. For outdoor stone floors, travertine is an excellent choice not only in the summer heat but also in cool temperatures.
The tiles are frost-resistant and non-slip, a property of natural stone that is just as useful on the terrace as in the wellness area at home. Therefore, travertine offers another decisive advantage for tastefully designed luxury bathrooms: the porous and non-slip surface of travertine tiles also offers a sensual experience when walking as stone flooring indoors in the living area.
Our travertine varieties
Despite its Italian name, travertine is widespread on all continents. The porous limestone is a comparatively young mineral. It forms mainly near older limestone and marble deposits, but is usually present in smaller quantities. The countries of origin of the travertine natural stones used in our Italian tiles are primarily Austria, Germany and Italy, but also France, Croatia and Turkey. The properties and colouring of travertine vary depending on its origin.
