In this city apartment, the client wanted an exclusive floor in an inlaid design with selected Spanish limestones that harmonize with each other. The floor was precisely cut using water jet technology according to the architect's design. After installation, the entire floor was grouted, sanded and polished to a perfectly even finish.
PRODUCTION OF THE INLAYS
First, the stone technicians created an exact CAD plan of the inlay pattern according to the architect's specifications, which was then translated into a CNC program for the machine control of the waterjet system. Waterjet cutting produces a cut with a width of 0.1-0.2 mm at a water pressure of 400 bar. Waterjet cutting allows 100 % repeat accuracy and any complex and intricate external and internal cut shapes.
