Invitation to the Long Night of the Stonemasons on 18 June 2015
SCHUBERT STONE in Vienna cordially invites you to the Long Night of the Stonemasons on 18 June from 6 - 9 pm at the 3,000 m2 stone centre in Breitenfurter Straße. Interested adults and children can take a look behind the scenes of a stonemason's business and experience the production of a kitchen countertop live at the Stone Centre in Vienna from 6-9 pm.
In order to present the craft of stonemasonry to the public, the LONG NIGHT OF STONEMMAKING was launched in 2013 by the Federal Guild of Austrian Stonemasons and is taking place for the third time this year due to the great interest. The profession of stonemason covers a wide range of tasks, from natural stone in architecture and construction, for furnishings and interior design, for gardening and landscaping, for restoration and monument preservation, as well as for art and design.
The stonemason brings the wonder of nature into people's living space and awakens the beauty hidden in raw stone by cutting and polishing its surface. During the Long Night of the Stonemasons, guests can be infected by a stonemason's enthusiasm for his profession and get to know the most diverse application possibilities of natural stone and its variety.
