OUTDOOR POOLS WITH INTEGRATED WHIRLPOOLS WITH NATURAL STONE
Whether in a holiday home or in your own garden, on the terrace or on the roof garden - an outdoor whirlpool or pool promises rest and relaxation. What could be nicer than ending the day on a terrace with a whirlpool and enjoying a gentle underwater massage? But in addition to the relaxation effect, the visual appearance also plays a key role. As whirlpools and pools are unnatural objects, they need an external cladding that is as natural as possible so that they blend visually with the terrace, house and garden to form a harmonious overall picture. Natural stone is the perfect partner here. Matching terrace and pool edge stones made of natural stone create a look that can be modern and simple or Mediterranean and antique. From crystal marble to limestone to travertine, there are many options open to you when using natural stone for your whirlpool.
Travertine - Mediterranean flair for your pool
The Mandorla precious travertine is considered classic and extremely easy to care for. It captivates with its strong, warm beige, grey and brown tones, which conjure up a modern-Mediterranean flair on every terrace. Since, in contrast to other natural stones, the Mandorla precious travertine has only a few holes, it is extremely robust and perfectly suited for use as a pool edge stone. The Nocciole travertine stands for a classic Mediterranean look like probably no other natural stone. Its colour, which ranges from light beige to walnut brown, and its antique surface are what make this travertine so attractive. It conveys originality and naturalness and offers a strong accent to the blue pool water. With its antique, slightly rough surface, the natural stone is pleasant to walk on barefoot and offers sufficient tread and slip resistance around the pool area. The strong colouring of the travertine means that dirt is not immediately visible. An annual cleaning with a Kärcher is sufficient. For additional protection, permanent impregnation is recommended for larger areas.
Levante Crema - the purist among the natural stones
Levante Crema and Levante Rosa belong to the limestones and are available in different surface finishes. Basically, Levante Crema is a very puristic and restrained natural stone that has a rather discreet effect. Especially the Levante Crema sandblasted is very popular for pool edges, terrace floors and stairs, because its surface is light and non-slip. The surface of the natural stone does not get hot and is always pleasant and safe to walk on. Levante Crema as well as Levante Rosa are considered resistant to weathering and frost. They therefore meet all the requirements for outdoor use. A permanent impregnation protects the Levante Crema from dirt and makes the colours of the natural stone stand out more clearly. A non-slip and robust surface promise many years of enjoyment with this natural stone.
How is a pool edge made of natural stone created?
Experience first-hand in this video how a pool edge made of natural stone is created! In this case, we present to you the production route of a Roman entrance, as it is often used for the entrance area of a pool. First, the individual segments are cut, partly by machine, partly by hand. Then the edges of the natural stone are ground and shaped. Great care, precision and craftsmanship are required here. The surface of the natural stone is then roughened in a special sandblasting process to ensure sufficient slip resistance at the pool edge later on. Finally, the individual segments are put together to create the typical outer corner with inner rounding for the pool edge.
Crystal marble - modern and clear
Those who prefer a more modern and somewhat avant-garde look will go for a crystal marble. This natural stone has a soft, light grey tone with white grains. In colour contrast to the garden or lawn, pool edges or corners clad with crystal marble stand out visually. With its grey colour, crystal marble perfectly matches modern furnishing styles. But you can also combine this natural stone wonderfully with wooden furniture. Of course, the crystal marble is also prepared for its use as a basin edge stone. A non-slip and robust surface promise many years of enjoyment with this natural stone.
